For those who are sick of Cartoon Network and Boomerang airing the same 70 or so Looney Tunes shorts over and over, I have some good news for you. They are finally adding new shorts to the rotation. Credit goes to my Charter TV Guide for finding this out. Here is the schedule:

May 9th: "To Itch His Own" (re-airs on May 21st, during the 1:30 AM EST feed)

May 10th: "Patient Porky"

May 11th: "Fiesta Fiasco", "Hippydrome Tiger"

May 12th: "Rebel Without Claws"

May 16th: "Red-Headed Baby"

May 17th: "A Gander at Mother Goose", "A Scent of the Matterhorn"

May 18th: "Bartholomew Versus the Wheel"

May 19th: "Wild Wild World"

May 20th: "The Mouse on 57th Street", "Now That Summer is Gone"

May 23rd: "Here Today, Gone Tamale"

May 30th: "The Chocolate Chase"

June 1st: "Chimp and Zee", "Dog Tales"

June 2nd: "Crockett Doodle-Doo", "Quacker Tracker"

June 3rd: "Gonzales Tamales"

Note that all of these are during the 11:45 AM EST feed (unless if noted otherwise), and are on the channel Boomerang.

And yes, you read right. They are going to actually air/have aired five Speedy Gonzales shorts ("Fiesta Fiasco", "Here Today, Gone Tamale", "The Chocolate Chase", "Quacker Tracker" and "Gonzales Tamales"), a Cool Cat short ("Hippydrome Tiger") and two 1930's shorts ("Red-Headed Baby" and "Now That Summer is Gone")

I'll keep this thread updated as more shorts are added. In the meantime, I'm setting my DVR for all of these, and I advise those of who have been wanting to see more shorts airing to do so as well.

I'm glad to see that somebody at Boomerang actually cares enough about these shorts and their viewers to add more "new" content, especially the more obscure stuff! The airing of shorts that probably haven't been on TV in years (a black-and-white Merrie Melodie!) is especially notable.

Has "Red-Headed Baby" ever aired on Cartoon Network or Boomerang? It probably did on Nickelodeon during the late 1980's, but I'm not sure about Cartoon Network and Boomerang.

Since they are airing a 1931 short, could we perhaps actually see a Bosko or Buddy short airing on TV again?

What cable or satellite provider do you have? Is it possible to get Boomerang on them?

Finally Boomerang is showing some more Looney Tunes on TV, but seriously "Fiesta Fiasco" and "Hippydrome Tiger"? Though I'm not going to complain anymore since I don't talk about the W7/Bill Hendricks era Looney Tunes anymore (and for good reason).

Since "Patient Porky" will air on the 10th, it will be a computer colorized print from the 90s (which is censored unfortunately). But I'm not sure if "Red-Headed Baby" will be the original black and white version or not.

Huh; that's funny. Last night, I dreamed that "Hocus Pocus Powwow" was being rerun on Cartoon Network!
Unfortunately, even though CN is airing the Looney Tunes again, we have no way of knowing which cartoons are going to play, since CN doesn't want to show the schedule on their site.

So this means the Warner/Seven Arts logo (in any form, not just the "Abstract W7" version from the cartoons) will no longer be extinct from television!

I'm just glad we're getting shorts that are not even available on DVD. Besides, I've always liked Cool Cat.

Yeah, from now on, I think I'm just going to set my DVR for all Cartoon Network airings, just in case.

Very nice.
However, I should be cautious about the airing of "Red-Headed Baby". They could end up showing the Turner commissioned Korean color redrawn version.

This thread has been updated with the date for "Bartholomew Versus the Wheel" being added.

Now I'm really curious to see what will be next.

If I was working for Turner on Boomerang airings of the classic Looney Tunes, I would add some of the more popular or underrated cartoons to the program.
  • Rabbit Stew and Rabbits Too! (1969)
  • Horton Hatches the Egg (1942)
  • Dr. Jerkyl's Hide (1954)
  • Operation Rabbit (1952)
  • Daffy Duck and Egghead (1938)
  • Porky Pig's Feat (1943)
  • The Spy Swatter (1967)
  • Fair and Worm-er (1946)
  • The Pied Piper of Guadalupe (1961)
  • Dog Tired (1942)
  • Looney Turtles

  • Yeah, I never understood why "Operation Rabbit" isn't in the rotation while the rest of the shorts pairing Bugs Bunny and Wile E. Coyote are. Also, "Dr. Jerkyl's Hyde" is in the rotation. I've seen it multiple times on both Cartoon Network and Boomerang fairly recently.

The reason is because I never seen its airings too often, I keep missing out on it. It's my favorite short and I don't know why I'm missing its recent airings. But at least I can buy it on VHS instead.

I recorded that short on a FTA channel a few months ago.

Red Headed Baby will probably be the redrawn version with the color turned off...

"Wild Wild World", "The Mouse on 57th Street" and "Now That Summer is Gone" are going to air later this month too. I'll be adding the dates in the first post. So, that's another 1930's short that's going to air ("Now That Summer is Gone").

As I recall, "Now That Summer Is Gone" did air on Boomerang, many years ago—less than 10 years, I believe.

That made me think, I'll make a short list of shorts (that aren't available on DVD) I want to see on Boomerang again:

    "Porky's Pastry Pirates"
    "Porky's Cafe"
    "Along Came Daffy"
    "Catty Cornered"
    "Piker's Peak"
    "Bugsy and Mugsy"
    "Backwoods Bunny"
"Wild About Hurry" (this one has aired on Boomerang before during 2014, but has since mysteriously disappeared from the channel)
"Goldimouse and the Three Cats" (Like "Wild About Hurry", this one has aired on Boomerang before during 2014, but has since mysteriously disappeared from the channel)
    "Mexican Cat Dance"
    "Road To Andalay"
    "Cats and Bruises"
    "Moby Duck"
    "Run, Run, Sweet Road Runner"
    "Daffy's Diner"
    "Cool Cat"
    "Hocus Pocus Pow Wow"
    "Chimp and Zee"
    "Rabbit Stew and Rabbits Too"

Maybe we'll be seeing at least one of these in the near future.

It would be good to see Boomerang air the original, instead of that crappy version from "The Looney Tunes Show" sung by the tone-deaf child-voice Gossamer...
